Hello!! I am very excited to be entering my fourth year with the Santa Ynez Agriculture Department. I will be teaching Agriculture Biology, Agriculture Government and Economics, Ornamental Horticulture, and Agriculture Mechanics. As well I will be coaching the Vine Pruning Team, Welding Team, Public Speaking, and preparing student for the Santa Barbara County Fair in the spring and summer months.
I anticipate a very exciting and busy year. I hope to create engaging classes for my students and provide them with unique opportunities to expand their learning and their leadership through FFA. Both as their teacher and one of the FFA advisors, I hope to inspire all my students to explore the vast world of agriculture that surrounds them. I encourage all our students to become involved with FFA. Through their membership it can make positive difference in a student's life by preparing them for college and career success.
I am a local girl from the central coast, born and raised. After graduating from Mission College Preparatory (MCP) in San Luis Obispo, I attended Cal Poly, SLO where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a double major in Agribusiness and Wine & Viticulture. Upon graduation I worked in industry for two years as a sales representative for Cattaneo Bros. and for a few local wineries. I returned to Cal Poly, SLO's Agriculture Education Department where I obtained my Single Subject Teaching Credential and Specialist Credential in Agriculture. I completed my Master's Degree in Agriculture Education in 2014 and plan to continue to my professional development in the future.
